 Welcome to AWAKEN RADIO! I’m DJ Lyryk James, your host through the vast world of Rock N Roll, mental awakening discussions, and the therapeutic benefits to bringing them both together.  With a passion for all types of music, positivity, self healing & personal growth, helping others, and finding new ways to live life to the fullest.

My love and interest in music itself started around the age of 5 or 6 years old. a prime example (at the risk of embarrassing myself with the first one) i had the lyrics to Follow me by Uncle cracker, Drift Away- Dobie Gray, And Life's been Good by Joe Walsh all memorized and would sing them to myself at night to fall asleep. This i believe led to my dreams of being a radio DJ, Singer, Guitarist, and Song Writer. Ever since i was a young child, music has been the cure for my traumas and as i got older became the very thing that saved me from mental health struggles, substance abuse, and help me overcome just about anything thats been thrown at me in life. Im absolutely thrilled to bring my experiences, stories, and lessons to this station and share with listeners and hopefully inspire and help those who need it. My mission for this project is to not only inspire those around me but bring positivity to the music loving community and help others the way i had to help myself and show them that even when it feels like nobody is there or that nobody cares, i do and I'm here to use my experiences and knowledge to help anyone and everyone that wants it. Believe it or not music can cure many things  and be mentally healing for those of us that find comfort in the music and also believe that music can help them heal and feel things in a healthy way.
